During this week’s meeting we discussed the purpose of LGBT history month as well as announcing several updates on events.

Don’t forget the Gaylidh is happening this Saturday!

This week meeting our main point of discussion was looking at the history of LGBT acronym in the UK and at the University.
It was an interesting conversation about perspectives of it has evolved over time and whether with emerging identities that a set acronym can keep up.

During this meeting we had a Gender Grammar Workshop discussing a range of topics including pronouns, gender neutral language and what to do to avoid outing trans people without their permission.

The main feature of this meeting was the committee elections.

Having followed last week’s LUSU elections, where we voted for several roles including our LGBTQ+ Cross Campus Officer. This week saw several committee members rerun as well as all positions being filled.
