Hello everyone! We’re approaching the halfway point on history month – if you got a chance to go to last week’s Gaylidh, we hope you enjoyed it! We’ve still got some tricks up our sleeve, and make sure to keep an eye out for the things that Women’s Forum and Liminal will be doing!
Monday – Coffee Evening will be at 6PM in Furness TV Room. This is our casual social weekly event where we have a warm drink and a chat. Feel free to bring games or friends!
Tuesday – On Tuesday, Out in the Bay, Lancaster’s local LGBT charity, will be hosting a stall in Alexandra Square to discuss what they’re up to during History Month.
Wednesday – Wednesday is our weekly meeting in Charles Carter A19. There’ll be some discussion, and finalising our plans for the rest of the month, and hopefully getting into detail on our upcoming Sugar Takeover and Canal Street trip!
Thursday – the regular meeting of the Postgrad, Mature Student and Staff (PMS) group will be in Fylde Bar at 5:30PM. This is a casual gathering where LGBTQ postgrads, mature students and staff can relax after work, socialise and discuss LGBTQ issues specific to them.
Also on Thursday is our third film screening of History Month. This week’s film is United in Anger, a documentary film about the beginning of the AIDS activist movement. The film screening will be at 7PM in Furness Lecture Theatre 2.
Friday – T and Coffee, the social night for trans students, will be on Friday evening at 6PM. If you’re interested in this, please contact us preferably through Facebook or via email (completely confidential).
And on Friday night we’re having our Decades-Themed Party! Dress up in the attire of a decade – for examples, some fashionable 90s double-denim – and come have a nice time. It starts in County Bar at 19:30!
Saturday – On Saturday, there will be a trans-specific social – a charity shop crawl where we will go round each of Lancaster’s charity shops to find ourselves comfortable clothing. If you’re interested in joining, send us a message.
